Where North Texas families size up a mover first

01 Overview

Allen is steady, established family country, and SHWIX Movers does a lot of its most straightforward — and most local — work here. This isn’t the brand-new-construction churn of Celina or the acreage of Prosper. Allen is Twin Creeks and Watters Creek and block after block of brick two-story homes that families bought to put down roots. The typical move here is a trade-up across town or a few streets over, and we’ve got that rhythm down.

Lining up a move in this stretch of North Texas? our DFW crew works these master-planned subdivisions, gated communities, and Tollway-corridor towers most weeks.

Established neighborhoods and brick two-stories

The defining feature of an Allen move is stairs. These are mature two-story brick homes, and the older neighborhoods come with full flights, banister turns, and second-floor master suites and bonus rooms full of furniture. We don’t charge a stair surcharge or let stairs become an excuse to run up an hourly clock — we bring enough crew and the right equipment so the staircase is just part of the day. Tyrell’s stairs-and-high-rise crew handles the heavy second-floor work.

How we move Allen families

  • No stair surcharge on the area’s two-story brick homes
  • School-calendar-friendly weekday and staged scheduling
  • Waived one-hour minimum for short local trade-ups within Allen
  • Banister, wall, and floor protection on every staircase
  • Disassembly and reassembly of beds, bunk sets, and bulky second-floor furniture

Local trade-ups and short hops

A lot of Allen moves stay inside Allen — a bigger house in Twin Creeks, a place closer to the school, or just across town. Those short hops are efficient work, so we waive the one-hour minimum and quote flat instead of running a meter on a two-mile drive. Because Allen is a family town, we fit the schedule around the school calendar, whether that means a weekday move or staging the load around drop-off.

Flat-rate, same crew, fully licensed

There is a single figure on the table before any work begins. Two movers and a truck are $175 an hour, three are $239, and short local moves quote flat. SHWIX holds Texas TxDMV registration and USDOT/MC authority and runs its own trucks and uniformed crews — the same crew loads and unloads, no broker, no mystery carrier. We move Allen

Our crews work Allen week in and week out, so the gate codes, the HOA move-in windows, the new-build subdivisions, and the high-rise elevator reservations are second nature long before the truck pulls up. Our quote is one flat rate, written out in full — you will not find surprise charges hiding in the fine print.

02 Why us

The name on the truck and the name on your contract are one and the same

Book SHWIX and the truck pulling up to your slab-built two-story is ours, the contract is ours, and the uniformed crew carrying your sectional down the stairs is on our North Texas payroll — your job never gets sold off. A broker works the other direction: they auction your move to whoever bids lowest that week, then drop out of the picture entirely.

SHWIX Movers
  • We own the trucks, and the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them work for us — we never fill out a crew with day labor pulled off a listing board
  • The number we write down is the number you pay — locked, signed, and accurate to the dollar before anyone lifts a box
  • The same crew the whole way through, from the first item out of the old house to the last one set in the new one
  • Texas (TxDMV) household-goods registration, USDOT/MC authority for interstate runs, and every job backed by full insurance with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Frisco office and one point of contact, from the first call to the last box carried inside
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whichever outfit happens to bid lowest that particular week
  • Lets the price climb on move day, loaded up with fees that nobody mentioned at the start
  • Sends total strangers you have never spoken to into your home, your whole household trusted to people you cannot vouch for
  • Stays fuzzy about whose policy actually pays out when a flat screen ends up on the floor
  • Parks a call center between you and whoever eventually shows up to load, turning a simple question into a runaround

What Allen movers ask us

Our Allen home is a two-story brick with a lot of stairs. Does that cost more?
No stair surcharge. Most of the established Allen neighborhoods like Twin Creeks are two-story brick homes, and stairs are just part of the job for us. We bring the manpower and the right equipment so a flight of stairs doesn't turn into an hourly-clock problem, and you still get one flat number for the whole move.
Can you move us during the school year without disrupting things?
Yes. Allen is a family town, and a lot of our moves here are local trade-ups that have to fit around the school calendar. We'll schedule a weekday or work in stages around drop-off and pickup, and we lock the date with a $140 deposit so you can plan the rest of the week around it.
Do you do short local moves within Allen, like a few streets over?
Constantly. Plenty of Allen families upgrade within the same neighborhood or just across town, and a short hop is some of our most efficient work. We waive the one-hour minimum, so a quick move doesn't get padded, and we'll quote it flat so there's no meter running on a two-mile drive.
