Where North Texas families size up a mover first

01 Overview

Prosper isn’t Plano with newer paint. It’s affluent acreage and big custom homes out past US-380, where the lots stretch to an acre or more and the driveways are long, private, and sometimes gravel. SHWIX Movers built its Prosper playbook around that: scout the approach, bring the right truck, protect brand-new finishes, and handle the kind of high-value pieces that fill a custom home. The exurban spread means access is the whole game out here.

Lining up a move in this stretch of North Texas? Frisco movers works these master-planned subdivisions, gated communities, and Tollway-corridor towers most weeks.

Acreage, gates, and long private drives

The thing that trips up movers in Prosper is getting to the front door. Properties on an acre or more often have gated entries, narrow lanes, and drives that soften after a spring storm — and Prosper’s drives are no place to bury a fully loaded 26-footer. We ask about the approach when you book, and if the drive won’t take a big truck we stage near the road and shuttle in. Better a few extra dolly trips than a truck stuck in your front pasture.

Windsong Ranch and the new custom builds

A huge share of Prosper is brand-new construction — Windsong Ranch and the custom sections going up across the exurb. New homes mean new-build move-in coordination: we time the truck to your builder walkthrough and closing, and we paper the floors, stair edges, and door jambs so nothing scuffs the finishes you just paid for.

What our Prosper crew brings

  • Approach scouting and shuttle staging for acreage, gated entries, and long private drives
  • Builder-coordinated move-ins for Windsong Ranch and custom-home closings
  • Floor, stair, and finish protection through new construction
  • In-house crating for pianos, wine, art, and other high-value pieces
  • Dawn loads in summer; radar-watching in spring storm season

A flat number for a big house

Big homes scare hourly movers into padding the clock. We quote flat instead. For reference, local crews run $175 an hour for two movers and a truck or $239 for three, and a $140 deposit holds your date and comes off the final bill. SHWIX is a licensed Texas (TxDMV) mover with USDOT/MC authority running our own trucks and crews — the same team both ends, never a broker. Get my free moving quote for your Prosper move.

We move Prosper

Our crews work Prosper week in and week out, so the gate codes, the HOA move-in windows, the new-build subdivisions, and the high-rise elevator reservations are second nature long before the truck pulls up. Our quote is one flat rate, written out in full — you will not find surprise charges hiding in the fine print.

02 Why us

The name on the truck and the name on your contract are one and the same

Book SHWIX and the truck pulling up to your slab-built two-story is ours, the contract is ours, and the uniformed crew carrying your sectional down the stairs is on our North Texas payroll — your job never gets sold off. A broker works the other direction: they auction your move to whoever bids lowest that week, then drop out of the picture entirely.

SHWIX Movers
  • We own the trucks, and the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them work for us — we never fill out a crew with day labor pulled off a listing board
  • The number we write down is the number you pay — locked, signed, and accurate to the dollar before anyone lifts a box
  • The same crew the whole way through, from the first item out of the old house to the last one set in the new one
  • Texas (TxDMV) household-goods registration, USDOT/MC authority for interstate runs, and every job backed by full insurance with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Frisco office and one point of contact, from the first call to the last box carried inside
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whichever outfit happens to bid lowest that particular week
  • Lets the price climb on move day, loaded up with fees that nobody mentioned at the start
  • Sends total strangers you have never spoken to into your home, your whole household trusted to people you cannot vouch for
  • Stays fuzzy about whose policy actually pays out when a flat screen ends up on the floor
  • Parks a call center between you and whoever eventually shows up to load, turning a simple question into a runaround

What Prosper movers ask us

Our Prosper home is on acreage with a long private drive. Can your truck make it back?
Usually yes, but we check first. A lot of Prosper properties sit on an acre or more with gravel or narrow private drives and gated entries that won't clear a 26-foot truck on a wet spring day. Our dispatcher, Wade, asks about the approach when you book so we send the right truck, and if the drive is soft or tight we stage closer to the road and shuttle in rather than risk getting stuck.
We're moving into a new custom build in Windsong Ranch. Can you coordinate with the builder?
We do this all the time in Windsong Ranch and the newer Prosper custom sections. We schedule the truck around your builder's final walkthrough and closing so we're not unloading into a home that isn't ready. We'll also lay floor and stair protection through brand-new finishes so nothing gets scuffed on day one.
Do you carry insurance for high-value items in a large custom home?
Yes. Standard released-value coverage is $0.60 a pound, full-value protection is available if you want it, and every shipment carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage. For a big Prosper custom home with a grand piano, wine, or art, our specialty lead Diego crates and pads the high-value pieces himself.
