01 Overview

Storage for the gap between closing and move-in

Timing in North Texas almost never lines up perfectly. You close on the house you’re selling on a fixed day, but the new build in Celina, Prosper, or Frisco Lakes is on the builder’s clock — and that clock slips. SHWIX Movers bridges the gap with short-term storage, so you’re not paying for a hotel and a moving truck twice while you wait on keys.

From Plano to Prosper, Frisco movers writes the whole move as one fixed number — what the estimate says is what you pay on move day.

How the overlap actually plays out

Say you close out of your current home on the first, but your new construction won’t pass its final walkthrough until the twentieth. We load you out on the first, right on schedule, hold your whole household in storage, and redeliver the day the builder finally hands over the keys. One company, one quote, no scramble to find a unit and a second crew at the last minute.

Stored the right way

This isn’t a self-storage unit where you stack boxes on a bare slab. Furniture goes in pad-wrapped and vaulted, kept up off the concrete and out of the worst of a Texas summer’s heat. Everything is inventoried on the way in, so when it comes back out, it’s all accounted for — no guessing whether the bed rails made it.

Same crew, no handoff

The crew that wraps your sofa and loads it into storage is the same SHWIX crew that brings it back. We run our own trucks and our own movers, licensed in Texas; we don’t broker the hold to a storage company or hand redelivery to a different carrier. Your things change hands once — into storage and back out — and it’s our hands both times.

Flexible while your date firms up

  • Holds run by the week, so you only pay for the time you actually need while the move-in date settles.
  • Storage handling is quoted as a clear add-on to your move, not buried in fine print.
  • The $140 deposit that holds your move date also credits to the final bill.
  • Protection while stored follows the same terms — $0.60/lb released value standard, full-value optional, with cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment.

What’s included

  • Clean, secured short-term storage for the gap between a Frisco closing and a builder's delayed completion
  • Pad-wrapped and inventoried in storage, not just shoved in a unit — every piece logged
  • Same SHWIX crew loads in, holds, and redelivers — no second company touching your things
  • Vaulted handling that keeps furniture off concrete and away from a Texas summer's worst heat
  • Flexible holds by the week while your move-in date firms up
  • Storage handling priced as a clear add-on, with the $140 deposit credited to your move

How the price gets set

We start with a short walkthrough or video survey, and from your actual inventory we set one flat North Texas rate — no hourly clock buried anywhere inside it. Whatever that quote says is the whole price, with nothing added once the truck is loaded or a storm rolls in off the plains.

02 How we protect your move

We treat what you own the way we would want ours treated

Every truck rolls loaded with pads, shrink film, and floor runners — ready to blanket furniture, keep wood floors and tile clean on a wet day, and cushion the breakables, whether the job is a brand-new two-story in Phillips Creek Ranch, a custom home on acreage out in Prosper, or a Legacy West high-rise that needs a reserved freight elevator.

Quilted pads

Dressers, tables, and headboards get blanketed where they stand, and the padding is on long before anything starts moving toward the door.

Stretch film

Drawers stay shut and cushions stay clean — wrapped tight so dust off the garage and the trip across an open driveway never reaches the fabric.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners down, banisters wrapped, door jambs padded — the first thing we do at both homes, so the trim, the rails, and the new-build flooring look untouched after we pull out.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tabletops, framed art, and big flat screens each get a crate built right there in the room, cut corner to corner for a snug, exact fit.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, dining tables, and sectionals come apart to ride safe, and once they clear the door at the new place our crew puts every one back together.

Straps, dollies & gear

A high-rise freight elevator, a tight new-build staircase, or the single heaviest thing in the house — each one pulls the right tie-downs and rigging off our truck, and none of it ever gets left behind.

03 Why us

The name on the truck and the name on your contract are one and the same

Book SHWIX and the truck pulling up to your slab-built two-story is ours, the contract is ours, and the uniformed crew carrying your sectional down the stairs is on our North Texas payroll — your job never gets sold off. A broker works the other direction: they auction your move to whoever bids lowest that week, then drop out of the picture entirely.

SHWIX Movers
  • We own the trucks, and the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them work for us — we never fill out a crew with day labor pulled off a listing board
  • The number we write down is the number you pay — locked, signed, and accurate to the dollar before anyone lifts a box
  • The same crew the whole way through, from the first item out of the old house to the last one set in the new one
  • Texas (TxDMV) household-goods registration, USDOT/MC authority for interstate runs, and every job backed by full insurance with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Frisco office and one point of contact, from the first call to the last box carried inside
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whichever outfit happens to bid lowest that particular week
  • Lets the price climb on move day, loaded up with fees that nobody mentioned at the start
  • Sends total strangers you have never spoken to into your home, your whole household trusted to people you cannot vouch for
  • Stays fuzzy about whose policy actually pays out when a flat screen ends up on the floor
  • Parks a call center between you and whoever eventually shows up to load, turning a simple question into a runaround

“Did a fantastic job moving my partner and I. We moved from one top floor apartment to another 8 miles away and the guys got it done in just one day. They were also kind and helpful, they were able to stay on task even with other movers also in the way (another person was moving out using the same elevator ) I highly recommend them.”

Questions we hear about this service

Our new build in Celina won't be ready for three weeks after we close on our current house. Can you store everything in between?
Yes, and that gap is the whole reason we offer it. Construction in Celina and Prosper rarely lands on the day you close out of your old place. We load you out on schedule, hold your household in our storage, and redeliver when the builder finally hands over keys — with the same crew on both ends.
Will my furniture be sitting on a hot concrete floor all summer?
No. Pieces go in pad-wrapped and vaulted, kept up off the concrete rather than stacked on a bare slab in the heat. We inventory everything going in so what comes out is accounted for, and short-term holds are exactly that — short — so your things aren't sitting through a full North Texas summer.
Does a second moving company handle the storage redelivery, or is it still you?
It's still us, start to finish. We're a licensed Texas mover running our own trucks and crews — we don't hand your shipment to a storage broker or a different carrier. The crew that loads you out is the crew that holds your goods and redelivers them, so nothing changes hands.
