Where North Texas families size up a mover first

01 Overview

Plano is where SHWIX Movers does some of its busiest work, and almost none of it looks the same. One week it’s a software director relocating into a Legacy West high-rise on a corporate transfer; the next it’s a family that’s owned the same brick estate off Preston Road for thirty years and is finally trading down. Our crews run both ends of that town all year, and we quote one flat number whether you’re going up an elevator or out a circular drive.

Lining up a move in this stretch of North Texas? DFW metroplex movers works these master-planned subdivisions, gated communities, and Tollway-corridor towers most weeks.

The Legacy corporate corridor

The stretch around Legacy West and the Tollway is dense with towers, luxury townhomes, and corporate transferees landing for jobs at the big HQs. Those buildings run on rules: reserved freight elevators, dock windows, and a certificate of insurance on file before management lets us in. Our office handles the COI paperwork for you so the elevator’s padded and the dock’s open the moment our truck arrives. Tyrell, who leads our high-rise and stairs crew, has done enough Legacy-corridor towers to know exactly how the loading docks flow.

Established West Plano homes

West of the Tollway, the housing changes entirely. These are the older estates and ranch-and-brick two-stories on big lots with mature trees and long drives. The challenge here isn’t an elevator, it’s access: low limbs, gated entries, and driveways that won’t take a full-size box truck. We scout the approach before we commit a truck and shuttle when we need to.

What our Plano crew handles

  • Freight-elevator and dock coordination for Legacy-area high-rises and townhomes
  • Certificate of insurance prepared and sent to building management ahead of time
  • Corporate-relocation timing tied to your closing and first day on the job
  • Shuttle staging for long driveways and gated West Plano estates
  • Full padding, disassembly, and reassembly of beds, sectionals, and office setups

Flat-rate, not hourly roulette

Plano has plenty of hourly outfits that watch the clock. We don’t. A two-mover crew with a truck runs $175 an hour, three movers and a truck $239, and a local flat-rate quote opens at $449 for a studio or one-bedroom. You hear the number before we load anything. SHWIX is a licensed Texas (TxDMV) mover with USDOT/MC authority, our own trucks, and our own uniformed crew on both ends. Get my free moving quote and we’ll size your Plano move today.

We move Plano

Our crews work Plano week in and week out, so the gate codes, the HOA move-in windows, the new-build subdivisions, and the high-rise elevator reservations are second nature long before the truck pulls up. Our quote is one flat rate, written out in full — you will not find surprise charges hiding in the fine print.

02 Why us

The name on the truck and the name on your contract are one and the same

Book SHWIX and the truck pulling up to your slab-built two-story is ours, the contract is ours, and the uniformed crew carrying your sectional down the stairs is on our North Texas payroll — your job never gets sold off. A broker works the other direction: they auction your move to whoever bids lowest that week, then drop out of the picture entirely.

SHWIX Movers
  • We own the trucks, and the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them work for us — we never fill out a crew with day labor pulled off a listing board
  • The number we write down is the number you pay — locked, signed, and accurate to the dollar before anyone lifts a box
  • The same crew the whole way through, from the first item out of the old house to the last one set in the new one
  • Texas (TxDMV) household-goods registration, USDOT/MC authority for interstate runs, and every job backed by full insurance with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Frisco office and one point of contact, from the first call to the last box carried inside
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whichever outfit happens to bid lowest that particular week
  • Lets the price climb on move day, loaded up with fees that nobody mentioned at the start
  • Sends total strangers you have never spoken to into your home, your whole household trusted to people you cannot vouch for
  • Stays fuzzy about whose policy actually pays out when a flat screen ends up on the floor
  • Parks a call center between you and whoever eventually shows up to load, turning a simple question into a runaround

What Plano movers ask us

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our Legacy West high-rise?
Yes. Most of the towers and luxury mid-rises along the Legacy corporate corridor want a COI on file before they'll release the freight elevator and dock. Tell Shelby in our office the building name and the management company's requirements, and she'll have a properly worded certificate sent over ahead of move day so the loading dock is reserved and the elevator is padded when our crew rolls up.
How do you handle a move out of an older West Plano estate with a long driveway and mature trees?
We scout the approach first. A lot of the established homes off Preston and Park have circular drives, low limbs, and tight gate columns that won't take a 26-footer, so we'll spot a shuttle or stage the truck at the curb and run a quick dolly path. Same crew that loads in West Plano unloads at the other end, so nothing gets handed off to strangers.
We're relocating with a corporate transfer on a tight closing date. Can you work around it?
That's most of our Plano calendar. Toyota, Liberty Mutual, and the other Legacy West employers move people in on hard start dates, so we book the truck around your closing and your first day in the office, not the other way around. A $140 deposit locks the date and comes straight off your final invoice.
